The most popular deployment pattern in 2026 is pairing Devin with Cursor: developers use Cursor for daily editing and complex problem-solving, and queue well-defined backlog tickets to Devin for overnight completion.

Compared to Cursor and Claude Code, the two most widely used AI coding tools, Devin occupies a different role. Cursor and Claude Code are interactive assistants that require a developer to remain engaged. Devin is designed to run unattended, making it more comparable to a junior contractor than to a pair-programmer.

On the SWE-bench benchmark Devin scores 13.86 percent, well above earlier models, though Cursor with Claude and Claude Code with Opus reach higher benchmark scores when a developer guides the work.
